He approaches graphic design at the end of the 1950s, having just completed his studies at the Leonetto Cappiello Florentine School of Art and Advertising. He moved to Rome, hired, although very young, as a graphic designer by the American pharmaceutical multinational Pfizer. After refusing the transfer to the US branch, He returns to Florence where He worked with Leone Sbrana at G. Spinelli & C. and then later as assistant to the already famous graphic designer Massimo Vignelli at the Florentine publishing house Sadea-Sansoni. 

He arrived in the Veneto region in 1968 in Valdagno with the position of Creative Director of Marzotto. Later he created Corporate identity and Communication works for companies such as De’Longhi, Belfe, AGB, Eutelsat, Artieri del Legno, DeRoma, Rigoni di Asiago and many others: national and international. A career of over sixty years in the world of creativity, first as a graphic designer, then creative director, photographer, object designer, and painter.

Mario Albanese organized, as a bet, the first solo show at the Galleria d’Arte del Ponte in 1972, after seeing only one of his paintings. It was a success. The collaboration between Albanese and Franco Chiani continued for many years, becoming a fraternal friendship. In 2017, at Villa Thiene in Quinto Vicentino, and 2018 at Villa Gualdo in Montegalda his latest exhibitions. Through digital manipulation, the human element was removed from famous paintings of all time, from “The Last Supper” by Leonardo to “The night owls” by Edward Hopper. 

In the latest years, He has collaborated within the C H I A N I Creative Collective with his children, Ilaria, Francesca, and Vieri, tackling many brand identity projects.
